BOTM: DT SWISS INSPIRED U.P. - part 2

I hope you have enjoyed the video of the DT Swiss inspired U.P.  I actually have to look at that video once in a while as right now the days are gray, rainy and cold here in Switzerland and riding is not really fun.

As mentioned before this is a limited and numbered edition of 30 units. We currently only have 10 units left...

The artwork has been developed by DT Swiss and showcases the following items:

- their iconic Chasseral Mountain (which we have climbed on day 2) on the seat tube

- the inner of the chain stay and the fork is in black with a spoke pattern in silver

- the upper side of the top tube is also in black

The real challenge has been to find the right color. DT Swiss had a clear idea what it should be: Audi Florett Silver! Now I can tell you this is a hard color to find... After trying for a couple of weeks with no result I just bought a touch up repair from a local Audi retailer and send it to our painter to match. Not even that was easy as they asked me for the car registration and if I am a customer of them. Lets say it this way... at the end I got my bottle but probably the door to heaven is locked forever for me ..

You simply have to love Audi silver. I've ever seen it on a bike before - it looks fantastic.

Had to sell your soul for a few ounces of silver (paint) eh? LOL! You guys are sure creating an awesome collection of collectible frame sets! All these should eventually make it into he Smithsonian or Louvre! Keep 'em coming!

We'd have to ask Audi the serial number of their frame first. We're very strict in such matters :-)

Well, in a few days it's back to baby blue and horrible green! But an UP should be covered in mud anyway so then it doesn't matter!

Haha, well Gerard. If all felt the same, in that case all small batch special painted UP / UPPER would be useless ;-)
My guess is that people actually are more victims of vanity (looks/ design and bling) than you would like to admit.
I like the silver best so far. But candy burnt orange had been my choice as second color over black. It would offer more dynamic contrast to the frame than black.

So true! Color is a driver for many, myself included. The orange is outstanding, black is a great standard and the silver is stunning. Green/Blue- unique and I love unique but they're both outside my aesthetic comfort zone, I suspect I'm not unique in that regard. That said, loving the OPEN brand!

Audi Samoa Orange is the ultimate color.... I love your orange.. but My car is Audi Samoa Orange. This silver one is really amazing on a bike.

I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire one of the Cento U.p.p.e.r. frames... Thank you Andy and Cento. Look forward to the build... I will be sure to post to the showcase.....
