Ice cream season is finally over here we just had the first snow arriving after a long period of warm weather and not enough rain.

Time to post the last part of the "ice up on a stick " series after the beauty shots of part 2.

Very nice bike. Are you guys considering at some point offering a stem/handlebar and headtube combo where all the cables route directly from the bar into the stem and then the frame through the headtube as is currently being done on several BMC, Cervelo, Specialized, and Willier frames? Also, can you state what the minimum chainring size is that your new Open Up frames can handle so that the chain clears the lowered driveside chainstay? Some say it is 32 teeth as a single or small double ring, and some say it is 30 teeth? Thanks

Hi RH, we are not working on an integrated stem/handlebar combo. For the minimum chainring we do say 36 for a single chainring. But depending if you have a flat or offset chainring you can go lower also. I did manage myself to put a 32 on but it depends a lot on the ring/crank combination thats why we say 36 to be on the safe side

Thanks for the information Andy. If I run a double chainset on a New Open would the smallest ring advised also be 36 tooth the same as with a single ring set up? Thanks

Great looking bike. The paint scheme reminds me of the Klein's of the mid-80's. I'm seeing several OPEN's with the Schwalbe G-One 700x40 tires. Wondering how they do on dirt and what kind of pressure folks are running.

Hi Mark, as long as its dry thats my favourite tire. On tarmac you can ride it as s normal road tire and also for cornering its great. On dry stuff and easy trails it works well also but not the tire you want if it gets muddy

beautiful bike.....do these frames come with an internal integrated headset? or do you have to use a chris king or can e creek headset? thanks

Actually its a drop-in style headset. We are using Cane Creek on all our frames but Chris King just released a headset that will fit: its called dropset 2 and if you want it in black item number is: FB2002
